Our Clinical Staff
Everyday, Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center’s audiologist and speech/language pathologists work with children to improve their ability to communicate so they can succeed in school and live happier and more productive lives.

Alicia Baptista, M.S., CF-SLP
Alicia graduated from ETSU with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in May of 2012. She received her B.A. degree in English Language/Literature and Anthropology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During her academic career, Alica provided services at the ETSU Speech and Hearing Clinic, NAVE Center and Veteran's Administration. She was born and raised in Los Banos, CA and moved to eastern Tennessee in 2003. Alicia is an advocate for early intervention and loves to work with preschoolers and children with autism. She provides speech and language services at our main center. -
Youngmee Hahn, M.S., CCC-SLP
Youngmee graduated with a Master of Science in Speech-Langurage Pathology from Syracuse University in December of 2010. She received her B.A. in German with a minor in Education from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania in 2005. During her academic career, Youngmee received the Syracuse University Outstanding Master's Degree Award and Fullbright Teaching Assistantship to Russia. Yougmee speaks four other languages in addition to English, including Korean, German, Spanish and Russian. She joined our staff in September of 2011 and is providing speech and language services at our Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital site. -
Lauren Horn, M.S., CCC-SLP
Lauren graduated from ETSU with a Master of Science in speech-Language Pathology in May of 2012. She received her Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Kentucky where she is also a Medical Service Corps Officer in the National Guard. During her academic career, Lauren served as president of ETSU's National Student Speech-Language-Hearling Association. She enjoys working with children and adults, and has a particular interest in swallowing disorders and pragmatic group therapy. -
Melissa Rubio- M.S., CCC-SLP
Melissa previously worked at Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center. She returned to our Center in October 2010 to serve patients at our Wellmont Holston Valley and Hawkins County Memorial Hospital sites. Melissa also serves as Coordinator of Hospital Services. -
Tasha Smith - M.S., CCC-SLP
Tasha graduated from ETSU and began working at Mountain Region in 2010. Her clinical interests include cleft palate and feeding. - Dallas Maas, BSN, RN, MS, CCC-SLP

Matthew Meridith, MS, CF-SLP
Matthew Meredith, MA, MS, SLP joined the staff of Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center in January, 2013. Meredith graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in December, 2012. Before pursuing a career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Meredith received his Master of Arts from the University of Iowa in Spanish Linguistics and taught Spanish courses at the university and high-school levels. During his academic tenure, Matthew provided speech therapy services at the University of Tennessee’s Speech and Hearing Center, Child Hearing Services Center, and Medical Center.
Meredith’s clinical areas of interest include pediatric and adult communication disorders, dysphagia, bilingual communication disorders, and the use of Fiber-optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) to diagnose and treat dysphagia. Meredith treats patients at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and at the Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center Clinic. - Brittni Zimmerman, MS, CF-SLP
